My daytime hot flashes and night sweats seem to have become more like warm flashes, less frequent, and shorter duration since I started taking the red clover supplement two weeks ago. Since I am also taking a turmeric ginger supplement I can’t completely attribute the change to the red clover, but it is red clover that is purported to alleviate menopausal symptoms.I started taking this as a potential solution for my hot flashes which seem to occur about once an hour when I am awake. I wake up at least 4 or 5 times a night throwing off all of the covers in a pool of sweat and then freezing and piling the covers back on. When they hit me during the day I go from comfortable to molten lava in about 60 seconds. It started about 2 months ago and the symptoms and ferocity of it all has constantly increased. I must have done something very wrong in a past life to be given this load of karmic hotflash debt.I received this order just before I went out of town and took it with me. In the four days I took this I noticed a steady reduction in hot flashes and it looked like things were going to be much better. Then I came home and low and behold the red clover stayed on vacation. Needless to say I was more than just a little disappointed. Within a day my hotflashes were back with a vengeance. I have tried black cohosh - nothing but weight gain for me. I cannot use soy. I have tried red clover extracts that have not been standardized and they do not work. You bet I re-ordered this the moment I knew I had left mine behind - I cannot find this locally. Ohhh how I am waiting on that package.I will update when my order arrives and I hopefully become a sane and regular temperatured woman again. Until then just call me Flashy.I need a dose of a minimum of 4 a day for my post menopause which is 28 per week so that 1 30 tablet bottle lasts 1 week and the 60 tablet bottle lasts 2 weeks. If they were 160 mg of isoflavones per tablet I could take 1 per day instead of 4. It has been 10 years since Flo came to visit me and I truly need estrogen and I have found the capsules not nearly as effective as tablets. I love this product. I only gave it 4 stars because I would rather have to buy a bottle of 240 monthly instead of a bottle every 2 weeks like toilet paper & toothpaste. But I will keep purchasing this for the rest of my life.Actually, I don't love it, my wife does. This specific brand of Red Clover Leaf Extract has isoflavones which act like estrogen which is why it seems to be effective for menopausal hot flashes. One question that has not been resolved with certainty is whether or not is it safe for post-menopausal women who have a history of estrogen receptor positive breast cancer. As a physician I would suggests that women discuss this with their own physicans if they are concerned about this.Use wisely according to directions. Using "extra" doesn't make the product work faster. Be patient. First read about the benefits on line. Takes several months to see changes. It does work.I got these to replace Promensil because they are getting so high in price. But I might go back to the Promensil, they seemed to control the hot flashes much better.I stopped taking Estroven because I need to avoid soy and black cohosh. I noted that red clover was among its ingredient deck, so I gave this product a try. One pill at night and no more hot flashes. I realize that everyone's biology is different, but I have had such good luck with this that I wanted to share my experience.Red clover extract has been shown to help with post-menopausal hot flashes. I haven't noticed a difference with this product like when I used another form of the same extract. Just ok
