I use fertility awareness to prevent myself from being at risk of pregnancy by using an app on my phone. Around my fertile period (which is about 6 days), my boyfriend and I use condoms, otherwise we do not. I was 23 at the time of this incident. It was close to the time I was going to be fertile and my boyfriend and I didn't use protection. I told him it was okay and I knew what I was doing (we had been doing this for the past 3 months), but he felt uncomfortable this time and thought that maybe were pushing it. So he asked me to take the Plan B anyway, so I did. We were unprotected again about a week later, and from then on, I was expecting my period. I thought that this pill was suppose to destroy the egg or force me to have my period early, which the generic brand did when I took it in the past. However, that did not happen.Six days go by after my missed period and I'm freaking out now. My boyfriend was calm about it, but still uncomfortable. I took a pregnancy test that night, nervous as hell, and to my surprise, I WAS PREGNANT! I felt the anxiety rising and broke down into horrified tears. I was so afraid of having to tell my father and the rest of my family. I called my boyfriend (who was at work) right away telling him the devastating news. He was calm and supportive and did his best to calm me and say that everything was going to be alright. I tried to collect myself, and later called my friend to come pick me up because I didn't want my father and brother to come home to me in tears. Overtime, we all got over the devastation and were excited once the tension came down. But that was not the pill's fault, it was my ignorance to how it worked and not reading the damn directions lol. My son is 14 months old now and we all love his spoiled butt to death. ;)Took this 72 hours after and I am happily not pregnant. So easy and so thankful for this option.
